Are you a pancake lover? Is there anything better than a lazy Sunday morning with big fluffy pancakes and maple syrup? Maybe some blueberry compote? There’s just something comforting about this delicious breakfast food. For most, this is a ‘cheat’ meal because typical pancakes are full of carbs and sugar. However, what if I told you I have a delicious HEALTHY version of this favourite meal!
I’m always on the hunt for healthier options to some of my favourite foods. Who says you can’t eat what you want. Eating healthy does not have to be boring!! There are so many alternatives to many of our favourite indulgences. Each week I will share some of my favourite recipes.
– 2 eggs
– 1 Banana
– 1/2 cup oats
– 1/4 cup apple sauce
– 1 tsp vanilla
– 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Blend all ingredients together. Scoop into greased pan and cook until golden. Top with honey, maple syrup, fresh fruit or Greek yogourt.
So there you have it! A super easy healthy alternative to get those carb cravings you desire. Instead of bread incorporate the oats & banana. This pancake recipe is so good, it may just become a regular meal in my weekly menu. Let me know what you think!
