Are you looking to level up, and achieve more than you currently are? Are you looking to better yourself and become a more valuable person to first and foremost yourself and your loved ones, but society in general? Where do you start?
Have you ever heard the saying
You become like the 5 people you spend the most time with. Choose carefully”?
Or what about
Surround yourself with people that reflect who you want to be and how you want to feel, energies are contagious”?
These quotes are indeed the corny motivational sayings you’ll find all over Pinterest and Instagram, but you see them everywhere, there’s got to be some truth to them, right?
I for one completely agree with them. I also agree with what you put out in the world, you get back. The energies people give off are so contagious, to each other, and to the world.. Let’s test out a scenario.
Have you ever hung out with a friend that is just unmotivated, and uninspired and all around blah. Or you have a conversation with a friend who is starting their own business and they are beaming and excited and full of life. And you come home and you’re asked how you night was. How do you respond different to each situation?
Did you leave hanging out with the first friend feeling like crap? Did you pick up on their energy and feel a little crappy yourself now? But the other conversation has light a fire under your ass. The other person has shown you what they’re doing and how happy they are. And you come home excited and happy and inspired and motivated.
Next week both friends want to hang out Friday night, which one do you choose?
I’m sure you see the difference I’m trying to get at here. You are who you hang out with. You are who you spend the most time with. It’s completely subconscious and you can’t help it but it’s true. So the sayings are accurate.
If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought.”
The subconscious mind is so extremely powerful. It is the most powerful part of your body, regardless of how much you can squat. And girl I know you can squat. But your mind has the power. Your mind holds all your potential. You will succeed or fail purely because of what you tell yourself to be true. If you don’t believe what you’re saying to yourself, it won’t come true, it won’t work, it won’t materialize. Period. You actually need to believe yourself. Believe in yourself.
And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, rather the person who says what everyone else is thinking but doesn’t have the guts to say, but we women are pretty hard on yourselves. And actually I don’t “Hate to say it” because if you know me at all, you know I’m blunt, and I have no filter, and I have my mother to thank for that, but it’s true. And it’s who I am. So I’ve come to accept it.
Anyways, women typically have a very negative self-talk in comparison to men. I’m sorry but it’s true. We’re really hard on yourselves. For absolutely no reason. You are doing your best. You are trying. You are going to slip up. That doesn’t make you a failure and shouldn’t have you running for donuts. It makes you human.
Accept yourself today for who you are while you work towards who you are going to be. Surround yourself with people who make you level up and support and believe in you. You are trying your best. You are working towards something bigger and better. And you will get there. Believe in yourself.
